Holiday, Or Not!

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

I was barely back from my holiday in Bali for a month when my brother told me that he desperately needs a holiday. His work is mainly dealing with people and it is really driving him crazy trying to coordinate them and having them to do their own part. From my own experience I know how hard it could to be working with people with different kind of attitude and styles.

Anyway, being the good sister I always was, I helped him to plan and book his trip to Bali. It could be a very relaxing place with the massage, temples and beautiful views. As it was such a near date, the flight tickets were a little pricey, over 800 bucks for return tickets for two! But well, he said he was willing to pay for it since he really wants to go for a holiday.

And so I booked them. I try to tell him more about Bali so that he could have an enjoyable holiday. I even helped him to pack some light clothing and walking boots as he is flying this coming Saturday and he’s rarely at home.

But he called me a couple of days ago and told me a bad news. He lost his passport! Oh gosh!
He said the last time he saw it was two weeks ago in his car! Who kept his passport in the car, I wanted to yell at him but well, he’s a very sensitive fellow. So I kept my mouth shut and called up the flight company. It would cost more than three hundred bucks to change the date of the tickets!

Now it is too late to change as it is less than 2 days to go before the departure flight. If he still couldn’t find his ticket, I guess the expensive tickets are going down the drain! :(

Shopping~

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Now that I am back to work at the city centre again, I frequent pass by the shopping malls during lunch hour and after work hour. I must say it is hard to resist the temptation to visit those boutiques when they are having sales!

What’s more, lately my friend introduced me to a great online boutique, the Roman Originals. They have many different types of tailor tops and pants, both formal and casual clothing. There are also a wide range of dresses, suits and coats which is trendy and fashionable.

The price is pretty affordable for the high quality garments. There are simply so many fabulous designs and I am really spoilt with choices.

And I couldn’t resist their final clearance sales right now, with many items under £7! What a great bargain! I could also get a free trouser with every purchase of a jacket!
With the free delivery for purchase over £75, it is really a worth buy. Not to forget a 20% off instore voucher for your next purchase. I

I am hoping to win the £250 worth of wardrobe from them as well. Isn’t it a fabulous deal not to be missed? For more information and pretty dresses, do hop over to the boutique now.

Year End Shopping

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Shopping is just an irresistible activity for most women. Nine out of ten women I know simply love shopping! And I guess that is why most of the products are targeted for the female, “female money is easiest to earn”, as a saying in Chinese.

And there’s just so many sales going on all year round. And yes, Isetan is having presales and sales again! Not to mention the Christmas sales and the New Year sales! So, working on Saturday, my colleagues and I thought we just popped over to the mall at 10am for half an hour when the store was just opened. There should be less shopping crowds.

We ended up browsing there for 90 minutes and I bought a white shopping bag that I didn’t plan to buy. I even had my eye on a pair of green heels but I brushed off the idea when I thought of another 2 pairs of new heels that I haven’t worn yet. But I couldn’t resist getting a new Icebreaker fleece top for him as Christmas present as I know he has been eyeing one for ages.

Now that Chinese New Year is just around the corner, it is time to stock up for new clothes and all the goodies too. I just couldn’t believe how swiftly year 2008 passes by and 2009 is charging in whether you are ready or not!

Well, after all these shopping, I should be more careful on my spending as they predicted that the economy would be worsening in our country by next year.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Another Book Please~

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

I’ve finally finished the two books that I rented a month ago, a romance and also a thriller novel that keep me hooked every single night. At the same time, I have finished reading my magazines as well and there is no reading material for me right now.

It is frustrating not to own a transport and I have to rely on others to fetch me to the rental book store to get another books. I am thinking that perhaps it would be easier for me to join an online book club so that I can easily order my book and have them delivered to my doorstep.

At AllBookClubs.com, I can find a list of the best book clubs available! I am excited about the prices that they offer as they are lower compared to those in the market.

The comprehensive resources of books certainly have most book categories such as mystery, romance, fantasy, medical, comic, home improvement and even african american books. The book clubs and their prices are listed in tables which makes comparison an ease. I can also find out their intro offers and commitments for joining each of the club.

Well, I guess I will never be running out of book to read again! =)

Singlehood

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Approaching 30s, most of my single friends feel pressurized by their family and the society to find a life companion. It does not only happen to the girls but as well as the guys as they have openly admitted to me that they want someone special in their life.

It is still alright when you have some friends around you but what happen a few years down the road when most of your friends have started their family or pursuing the goals of their life? It could be a long and lonely road waiting in front for you.

The Job I Miss!

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

When I was in the office today, I suddenly remembered the time I was being asked my previous employer to help out at headquarter in Singapore for a couple of days or weeks at times. I was there mostly for customer support as well as training.

Thinking back, I think I was rather bold and committed with my job. Most of the time I have to travel on my own to the customer site to give them training or for support job, like implementation or fixing the software that run into some issues.

When I was there, I would be given a list of customers that faced any issues and I listed it in my folder. Then I would call them and tackle one by one, solving as many as I could before I went back. There were many times I took the MRT train alone to the customer site. I have to find out how to get there as I wasn’t familiar with the places.

There was even once my stingy lady boss wanted to save on the cost and taught me how to take the bus to a customer condominium to fix the printer services. It was a long bus journey and I was worried to get lost. Upon reaching there, I was impressed by the security of the condominium and went to the customer’s place to help her with the printer.

I was so familiar and know well about our software to be confident enough to visit them. And to do the training as well. There was many ups and downs in the job as there were different types of customers, some were sweet while others were monster! And I remembered the office was very cold that many of us wear our Berghaus Jackets to keep warm!

But anyhow, I really missed the old time and the job!

My Next Card~

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

With so many credit cards in the market, I am really spoilt with choices on getting one that is suitable for me. I remembered when I was applying for my first credit card; I applied for the one that waived my annual fees for 3 years.

3 years down the track, I am thinking of switching to another credit card with good credit rewards. After all I do have very good credit history and I can choose the one that offer me the best rewards based on my lifestyle.

For a start, knowing that credit card rewards can be divided into two categories; cash back programs or rewards programs. Cash back program is rather straight forward where for every purchase; you get back a fix percentage rebate on the amount that you spend. It is usually 1% but can be even higher for certain cases which are up to whopping 10%!

Rewards program are based on points collected when the customer use the credit cards. There are reward programs for frequent flyers, retails, investment and even auto rewards.

So, which type of credit cards am I going to pick? Well, I guess I need more info which I can find at http://www.creditroom.com and then I’ll decide the one that will let me enjoy the maximum rewards!
