Chinese New Year 15 days

For most festivals, it is usually celebrated a day or two. For example, the Christmas day, Thanksgiving, National day, etc. But for Chinese New Year, it is 15 days of celebration! Of course, we don’t really celebrate all the 15 days, but perhaps the first few days, the 8^th or 9^th day and the last day.

However, I try to avoid wearing dark color during the 15 days as it is better to be wearing bright and jovial color like red, pink , yellow or white. I usually put on streetwear or casual wear on these days unless if there’s any special visit or dinner.

Tomorrow will be the last day of the Chinese New Year. I am kinda glad that it is over. Another year before the next. Hopefully the coming ones will be more enjoyable.

Snacking all the Time~

I am a small person with high metabolisms. To many of my friend, they think it is good to be like that. But to me, it means I have to keep eating. As I have small body, I couldn’t eat much at a time. I will get full easily. �

But the thing is, I digest them quickly and get hungry in a short while! Yes, I have to keep eating every few hours. That’s why I love snacking and tea time. In my previous company, I always have tea time with my colleagues in the pantry.

But in the new company, it is not their culture to do so. Thus, I have my own little tea time at my cubicle~ Today, I am having Koko Krunch Duo cereal. Yum~

Don’t Panic~

What do you do if during the scanning of bags at the airport doesn’t allow you to bring the tripod into the plane as hand luggage? They insist that you have to check-in the tripod when you could carry it as hand luggage previously.

Your only concern is that the rough handling at check-in would spoil your expensive gadget.Do you argued with them or do you go to check in as instructed?Well, if there is another scanning counter, do not argue with them. Calm down, nod and proceed to another scanning counter and you might have your luck.

It happened to us and we managed to pull it off at the 2nd counter.I did the same method when my train card was bended and couldn’t be read at the machine. One of the counters refused to refund the value for me and thus I went to another station counter.

Yes, I got my refund value with the new card on the same day. ^.^

Super sunny day of CNY

Few days before the Chinese New Year, I could feel the blazing hot of the sun and the bright, sunny day with blue sky. It sure is a great day for outdoor photography. But I could hardly get my eyes open wide without my Bolle sunglassses.

Though I really feel like it is a great new start for the year though the sweat never fail to prickle down my forehead and back whenever I step out.

And the weather has been staying the same since and it makes me so lazy to go out, even to the temple or visiting. It is much more comfortable to stay in my cave.

5 years old : The Wrong Bus.

It was in the kindergarten, I was about 5 years old. I have to take school bus home everyday. My father couldn’t pick me up.

And so, after class, many kids were running to the orange school bus and so I boarded with them. The bus journey was a different one. There was many paddy fields on the way home and different scenery, quite unfamiliar with me. Soon, all the kids have went down and reached their home. The driver turned and looked at me.

“Where do you stay?” he asked. “I don’t know“, I said. And so he drove me back to the kindergarten. Lucky thing the headmaster was still there. I think he must have looked up from my record for my address.

He then sent me home in his big car. I sat at the back of the car, feeling like a little princess. Finally when we were about to reach my home, I saw my father at the street and told the headmaster.

I think after the incident, we have to line up everyday while waiting for the bus so that we didn’t get into the wrong bus again. It was an experience that I never forget although it was more than 20 years ago.

New Development

I am happy to hear that there’s a new mall being developed near my housing area. Passing the development site almost everyday, I didn’t realise that it would be a shopping mall integrated with office building. Actually initially I thought that it is going to be a steel building looking from the design.

Let’s hope they will also integrate a hypermarket and decent malls as the nearest to my house is about 8km away! I could do with a little more convenience than that. And probably secure a much nearer company work near my house instead of travelling an hour per way everyday? Life quality will enhance tremendously, I bet!

It’s the Thought that Counts~

Every time I was on my holiday or get a chance to travel to somewhere new, I never fails to bring back souvenirs for my families and friends.

I always buy something for my family, even though we can get it back home. Perhaps I learn it from my mother. She always brings back a lot of stuffs for us when she travels and it makes us feel happy. It makes me feel happy to buy some gift for them too, to see them happy to receive it.Nevertheless, I also buy souvenirs for my friends.

There are many people to buy for; my hometown/childhood friends, my housemates, some of my ex-coursemates and my current colleagues and even some of the ex-colleagues. So, they are many people that I have to buy for but I am doing this willingly as I want them to be remembered when I am away and most importantly, I want to make them happy.

Most of the time, I try to buy some food stuffs and snacks for them to try to. So, overall, I would have spent quite much on souvenirs and gifts and not to mention, carry all of them back!Finding a souvenir is not easy, as sometimes you do not know what they like or sometimes it is just too expensive to be afforded.Sometimes I just get something simple, like a nice keychain or a magnet for friends. Or something more special for closer friends, like perfume or T-shirts or even a crystal bracelet.

But it is disappointing when the respond that I got was “That’s all only arr?” when I give them the souvenirs.

One can at least say thank you for the souvenirs that has been given instead of such sneer and unappreciative remark.Just keep in mind that it is not their obligation to get you something while they are on away, and they probably have spent much more than they should.

After all, it’s the thought that counts.

Messy office

I am appalled when stepping into the office entrance this morning. Unlike the other morning when everything is tidy and clean, the entrance are stacked with boxes and Trade show booth displays.

How irresponsible are those colleagues who moved the stuffs back from the trade show last weekend. Every year, our company participates in the trade show to attract more customers and to create awareness to the public on our products.

I was involved last year but we certainly didn’t make a mess like they did this year. I am sure they will soon receive email from the management.

Addiction Issues

I remembered that when I was in school, I wrote many essays on social issues such as drug and alcohol addiction. We always elaborate on why the youth are easily addicted through peer pressures. Then it will be about the effect on one life quality of life and the country’s social image and then how we could prevent it; such as thesan diego drug alcohol rehab treatment center to help the addicts.

Maybe I am lucky, this things never really happen among my relatives or friends. In fact I’ve never heard it to anyone I know of until recently. My colleague’s brother is one of the addict and the family is trying to help him now. Let’s hope he can get through this challenges in his life.

Back Ache Cures

I don’t know if it is aging, but nowadays if I bend down for too long I will feel that my waist is tired and a little painful! Oh, my back. It is not very bad but it is surely something that I did not experience before until lately.

I know that one shouldn’t bend down but I’ve defy the rules for a long time; hoping that I am not paying the price now.

My friend advised me to go for exercise such as yoga as it is really good for our body. She even wants to give me her extra yogi toes mat that she is not using anymore.

I wish I can find the discipline and time to do so. But I am just so lazy when it comes to exercising.
